When Vermont started seeing flooding on Monday, July 10th, I felt compelled to capture it. It started in Waterbury as a couple stills. We woke up to some horrific photos and videos from around the state, and I went to the towns nearest me to do my best to share their stories. Vermonters are extremely community oriented, and this shined bright even in the midst of tragedy. From supply runs to donations to volunteers, it has felt like Vermonters want to help each other. In that light there is still a lot of rawness as businesses and residents piece together what is left after a flood that rivaled or rose above Hurricane Irene levels, whipped down the spine of this beautiful state.
